In a final report on the remaining oil recovery service of the sunken ship, Jeheonho, on the 26th, the company said it has successfully removed the remaining oil of the freighter, which sank off Busan's Dadaepo 27 years ago with its domestic technology.

The remaining 98.6 kiloliters of crude oil, which remained on the hull of the 2,900-ton freighter Jeheonho that sank in 1992 in waters 5 kilometers southwest of Busan's Dadaepo Port, were safely.

In this project, the government successfully recovered all of the remaining oil from the ship and installed entrances to cut a total of 11 outer parts of the ship into square shapes so that fish and other fish could live on the ship, thus creating an artificial fishing foundation for marine life by utilizing the sunken ships.

"This is the first case of the project to remove residual oil from a sunken ship through the technology of a local company," Park Seung-gee, CEO KOEM said. "We will also actively pursue the project to remove residual oil from the sunken ship to enhance the capacity of domestic companies to rescue them, and to create a marine environment that local residents can use with confidence."
