Designation and Management of Marine Protected Areas
KOEM has been operating the Marine Protected Area Center since 2010 for systematic management of Marine Protected Areas. It is the center of integral management of MPAs and is taking strides to establish a participatory management system and improve the ecological, social, cultural, and economic value of MPAs through various activities like registration, assessment, and on-site management of MPAs, monitoring citizens, marketing, raising awareness, and educating stakeholders.
Tidal flat Restoration Project
KOEM is striving to restore the damaged Tidal flat in places including abandoned salt farms and aquafarms. We are especially focusing on the recovery and improvement of their physical shape and ecological functions.
